Car News – Volkswagen to introduce GTI-R in U.S.

The upcoming Volkswagen R will also be available in a turbocharged GTI-R.

The upcoming Volkswagen Golf R will also be available in a turbocharged GTI-R.

After revealing the new Golf R at last month’s Frankfurt Auto Show, Volkswagen announced that they will be coming out with a new variant of this new vehicle called the GTI-R, which is to replace the old R32 that was discontinued.

Volkswagen will take a 10 percent stake in Suzuki.  What do they have planned?

Volkswagen will take a 10 percent stake in Suzuki. What do they have planned?

In an interesting move, Volkswagen has reported that they will be taking a 10 percent stake in Suzuki by the end of the year.  Volkswagen recently closed the deal with ownership of Porsche, so one has to ask why take a stake in this company?

Volkswagen L1 Concept

Monday, Volkswagen announced an ultra fuel efficient car L1 concept that is says to get 100 kilometers on 1.38-liters of fuel.  This precedes a 2002 concept design that could go 100 kilometers on 1-liter of fuel, equivalent to about 235 mpg.  Although it doesn’t quite match up to the original model, it’s still very impressive none-the-less.
