Last week we reported that General Motors was close to an agreement to sell the prized Opel brand to Magna International.  This morning now, the GM Board of Directors announced that it has closed the deal with them to sell majority ownership.

Johan de Nysschen, who is an avid diesel supporter, seems to hate Chevy Volt, even going as far as to call it a “car for idiots”.  He takes several points of the car he doesn’t like, but the main one appears to be the price which stands at around $40,000.

Recently, several automakers have announced plans to finally sell an electric car to the public, in what appears to be a race to see who can get this car on the road and who has the best technology.
