Car Opinion – The world may be better without you.

If you crash into my car while doing this, i'll beat the living hell out of you.

About a week ago I was on my way to the store to buy some blank DVD’s to backup some work I have.  Interesting enough when I was about 2 miles away from my destination, a teenager driving just in front of me is chatting away on her cell phone.  Only problem is her swerving back and forth in her lane.  What ended up happening?  She almost hit a car driving next to her, and when she realized it she turned the car too quick the other direction and curbed her car and damaged the front bumper in the process.  I guess mom and dad are going to be pissed.

Another one I have is one of my friends who travels about 2 hours one way each weekend for work during the week.  He likes to read the newspaper while driving 80+ mph on the highway in a decent amount of traffic.  I think that is insane.  Why the hell isn’t there a nationwide law against stupidity?  Everyone should know that you don’t multitask when you’re driving a car.  It’s called “Inattentive Driving”, which is illegal in many cases.  But it doesn’t include talking with your cell phone up to your ear, texting, putting on make-up, or reading the newspaper.

Honestly, if having a cell phone 24/7 attached to you right hand and ear is that important, you need to have a brain tumor and die a slow and painful death than be on the road.  I personally don’t want to get hurt or killed because you forgot to put your make-up on before you left the house in the morning.  Your idiocy is cramping my nice ride to work in the morning.  The next time you decide to do one of these things, try driving yourself off a bridge into the Mississippi River never to be seen from again.

Maybe public transportation may be the key for these people?  Although i’m sure just enacting a nationwide ban on multitasking while driving would be better choice…… with a severe penalty of course.  Maybe taking away your license for a year and breaking your phone in front of you courtroom while you cry that the world now hates you.  Sounds good to me.
