Tire Rack
A few years ago I realized the tires on my car were getting pretty bald. Yes, I am one of those guys who waits until the bitter end, just before they would go flat. It’s not because i’m cheap, it’s because I believe in getting the full use of something. I then started to shop around at the various car places, getting my pricing planned out before I decided to buy. It was then I was introduced to Tire Rack from one of my good friends.
Needless to say, I was impressed with their business. They have just about every single top tire brand out there: Avon Tyres, BF Goodrich, Bridgestone, Continental Tire, Dick Cepek, Dunlop, Firestone, Fuzion, General Tire, Goodyear, Hankook, Hoosier Racing, Kumho, Michelin, Perelli, Sumitomo, Uniroyal, and Yokohama. That, and they can match up the right tire to your car depending on what you want: from a all season tire to performance.
They also have the various brands of wheels as well, and have this neat feature on their web site that allows you to view them on the type of car you have (see picture below) to see if you like the way it looks or not.

I was also very impressed by the prices on their web site. Although they are probably not the lowest you could find anywhere, they are relatively cheaper than most other companies or directly from the manufacturers. What also is very cool is that if you buy your wheels and tires together (packaged) they will mount and balance them for you. So, when they arrive at your home all you need to do is bolt them on in many cases.
Another thing I want to mention is that Tire Rack is not just a tire/wheel seller. They also have a good various range of car parts, such as brakes, suspension, lighting, wipers, air intake systems, and various other accessories, and again all at a relatively decent price.
So, being sold on the whole thing, I decided to purchase a set of Firestone all-season tires from them (which is needed where I live). It arrived at my home about a week later, and then I got them put on my car at a local car shop. In the long run I think I saved around $30.00 per tire, which is actually not that great. But if you’re looking to save a buck or two, I recommend doing it this way.
