Silly Ricer, useless wings are for penguins.
Everyone who loves cars know what i’m talking about. You see them…. and in many cases hear them out on the roads. They drive around in their beat up Honda Civics (or alternatives in same trashy appearance) with these ridiculous wings and fart can mufflers. Their called Ricers, and they are the most annoying people in the car community. Do they still make concentration camps? Cause I would love it if we could throw these people in them.
Now, the reason why many car people hate ricers is because they put these cheap aftermarket parts in which do not match the car at all. Some examples:
Winged Spoilers – First off, what in the hell makes these people think that adding a spoiler will do anything for the performance of their car. I’m almost positive that in many cases their cars do not go fast enough for the wing to produce the down force that would normally be needed. It’s all about show, which by the way doesn’t look that great either since it neither matches the car in proportion or color.
Fart Car Mufflers – Alright, now you know they have gone downright idiotic when they add one of these. The “theory” is that by adding one of these it will make your car sound “good”….. which anyone with a half a brain would know it doesn’t. A good car person knows if you have made any changes to your engine just by listening.
Body Kits – Alright, so the ricers spent a little extra money and slapped on a body kit. Normally I wouldn’t care about this, however when the body kit sticks out like a sore thumb because it is not painted, it’s mounted incorrectly, or is the only good body panel on the car because of the rest looks either dented, scratched, chipped or rusted. I guess to them it’s cool to drive around in a black car with white unpainted bumpers.
No Performance Changes – This I think is the #1 reason why we hate ricers. They spend all their money making their cars look fast, but they aren’t. They put absolutely no performance parts in their cars! Yet they have the audacity to drive around town like they are better and faster than anyone else. What’s even better is when you see a group of them in a parking lot, standing next to their monstrosities with their hoods wide open. I remember walking by them one time, giving a good look and laughed because they did nothing to it and the engine was so dirty and pathetic looking that it just made the guy look like a complete ass.
So, in closing, ricers: you need to get with it. The amount of money you spend on making your car not look good could have been spent on getting a different car or buying performance parts. But I guess ricers don’t get pissed when they are beaten off the lights by an old lady in a Buick.

Just a little tip for the future. The fart can mufflers as you call them, do give you a performance upgrade. After Doing a cat back install on my car, with a high flow cat, 2.5″ straight pipe, to a “fart can muffler” dyno showed that I got about 17hp out of it. Also my mpg went from about 25 city to close to 35. I do agree about the spoilers, as most imports are FWD and adding down force will do the opposite of what you want if you are on anything but a drag strip. So in order for them to help with cornering fast, you would have to mount them on the hood. So just wait until we start seeing that lol.
