I spent the money to get mine, why don't you get your own instead of following close to me!
About 2 years ago I purchased a new radar detector for my car. This ended up being the result of getting 2 speeding tickets in one month (one which was complete b.s. and the other one… well I deserved that one). The idea for me was to catch myself if I was speeding before an officer detected me completely. However, the one thing I hate that comes along with it is the people who think “oh, he has a radar detector! I’ll just following him real close so I can speed too and not get in trouble”. These people need to roll their cars down a cliff and die.
As an example of this, about 3 weeks ago I was on the highway with my radar detector on. Going at a decent speed of between 75-80mph (yes, speeding a little) and not even within 5 minutes of being on there I had some moron in a Ford Escort following me very close. Now, I really hate this as 1.) it draws more attention to the fact of me speeding and 2.) the guy is right on my back bumper. I tried speeding up to almost 100mph and surprisingly the dumbass was still there. I then slowed all the way down to 65mph and guess what, he slowed right down with me. At this point I was completely cross with this guy and just pulled onto a off-ramp and then went back on again.
Now, with this said I have to say that these people are absolutely useless. How hard is it to buy a cheap $30.00 radar detector and slap it on your windshield?!? It’s not rocket science and doesn’t take that much effort. I’d also like to point out that in many cases, if your tailing someone who has a radar detector and are speeding with them, 9 out of 10 times a police officer is more likely to pull you over than the guy you’re following. Just a good and legitimate fact you idiots need to know. If you still don’t, try riding on one of these instead (see picture below). I heard the windows taste great when you lick them.

So, basically what i’m getting at is you people who have this mentality of following close to people who have a radar detector, you really need to buy your own instead of bumming off everyone else. People get them for a good reason, and it’s not to help you out so you have that nice warm feeling of speeding. When we see you do this, all we’re thinking of at that time is you blowing a tire, veering into the median at a high speed, and rolling your Ford Escort 10 times before it blows up in flames.

Do these short buses usually have radar detectors? I think I’m going to start following them.
