The Scion iQ
It looks like Toyota is looking to boost their Scion brand’s sales by introducing the Scion iQ to the market. This little car joins the list of it’s older brothers and sisters: the Scion tC, Scion xD and Scion xB. However, there are rumors going on that this car may not make it to your local dealership.
According to Jack Hollis, the VP of the Scion Division, said that he’s the only one in the group pushing to get this car out the door, while the others appear to be skeptical if the Scion iQ will even increase sales for the Scion brand that is down 58 percent from last year. Rumor also has it that dealerships have been told that Scion is definitely going to have this car available by 2010.
The Scion iQ is slightly bigger than the popular Smart Cars and can fit up to 3 adults and one child. The concept has a 2.4-liter, 161-hp engine which has the capability of getting 66MPG, although there is talks that the actual one released to the public will have a either a 2.4-liter, 161-hp engine or a 2.7-liter four cylinder that could produce up to 200 hp. You can also expect Scion to keep up their customization options as well for this.
