Subaru FT-86
Earlier this week Toyota revealed the FT-86 Concept, which was part of a joint venture between them and Subaru and set to be revealed at the Tokyo Car Show. However, sketches have appeared on the internet of Subaru’s version of the FT-86.
While Toyota appears to be ahead of the curve when it comes to the FT-86, Subaru appears to be way behind since they are still on the sketch board. This may be due to the financial difference between the two companies. They also have not given a official yes if the vehicle will even get to production, due to executives wondering if it will fit in due to it being a rear-wheel drive vehicle in a all-wheel drive lineup of cars.
Some rumors are saying that the Subaru version would also appear next to the Toyota version of the FT-86 at the Tokyo Auto Show, however that remains unlikely at this point. If the vehicle does make it to production, it may be several years before you see it on showroom floors.
