Mini Speedster Concept
The new Mini Speedster Concept is planned to be unveiled this week at Frankfurt IAA motorshow. This is one of two new models coming out (the other being the Mini Crossover) and joins their current line of the Mini Cooper, Mini Cooper Convertible and Mini Cooper Clubman.
The new Mini Speedster will have a 2-seat body style unlike the Mini Cooper Convertible. It will also have wider and lower stance, bigger fender flares to accommodate the larger tires, and a chopped roof. There is also rumors that it will have an upgraded engine compared to other models by having a turbocharged, direct-injected 1.6-liter 4-cylinder outputting 177 bhp. You can also expect that a John Cooper Works model will be out as well with an even more powerful engine and a stiffer suspension.
Although this is currently just a concept model right now, it is expected that this will go into production and be available by 2011.
