2010 Lotus Evora Type 124 Endurance Racer
Lotus’ CEO Dany Bahar appears to be shaking things up at the company. The once ex-Ferrari executive claims to have a business plan to return Lotus to the same level as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati.
“Lotus was mentioned in the same sentence as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati in the 1970s-1990s,” said Bahar. “Then, it got closed into a corner. We believe it’s the right time to bring Lotus back to where it was.”
The upcoming 2010 Lotus Evora Type 124 Endurance Racer appears to be that “turning point” according to Proton Group’s Managing Director Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir. This is the first new model that Lotus has built since 1995.
To accomplish this huge task, Lotus will need to do more than just release the Camry-powered Evora. It will need to either create more new models or return with some of their original models, but have more power. Once in particular that is rumored is the return of the Espirit, which is said to be possibly powered by a Lexus V10 engine.
