Lancia and Chrylser will be sharing their car models between the two brands.
Lancia and Chrysler, both owned by Fiat-Chrysler, will now share all future models between the two brands, starting with the upcoming Chrysler 300-based flagship which will be re-badged to replace the recently discontinued Lancia Thesis.
Other vehicles planned for Lancia is a vehicle platform that will replace the current Chrysler Sebring. In exchange, Chrysler will get a small hatchback platform to use in a future sub-Sebring model to meet the new fuel economy standards.
Chrysler will be developed more for a stylized brand for trend-setting consumers just like Lancia is, although in the last decade they have faced poor sales. However, they have made great strides in the poor automotive market and have remained in the competition, even though the brand has been scaled down.
Chrysler is being pushed by Fiat to operate more on the level of General Motors’ Cadillac division, but the Italian company has said they have a long way to go.
