2012 Infiniti M35 Hybrid
Looks like Infiniti is joining the luxury hybrid race that Lexus started. Today they confirmed that they will offer a hybrid version of the new 2011 M, which will be called the M35 Hybrid. This new hybrid sedan will be available in dealerships in the spring of 2011 as a 2012 model.
The M35 Hybrid will be the first car to use Nissan’s in-house developed hybrid technology, which utilizes a single electric motor attached to a twin-clutch system. Infiniti’s 3.5-liter V6 engine will also be a part of the hybris system, although there is no information on the total power it will have. Depending on the situation the hybris system can help the V6 engine in power, or power the entire vehicle in EV mode.
The battery system used will be a “laminated” lithium-ion battery pack. Developed by Nissan, the automaker says the new technology will double the power while allowing the same size of battery systems.
