Pontiac Vibe is being recalled.

General Motors is recalling 10,119 Pontiac Vibe hatchbacks over an issue with the brake vacuum components that can freeze in low temperatures.  The recall covers Vibes sold in the Northern 19 states.  This comes not long after the iconic brand has been discontinued.

GM said that dealers will need to inspect and modify the brake vacuum on the Vibes covered under the recall.  The automaker said that cold weather can freeze the brake lines causing the brakes to take even longer for the vehicle to come to a complete stop.  Vibe owners in warmer climates will not need to bring their vehicles in.

At this time the Toyota Matrix, which was built along with the Pontiac Vibe, has not been recalled yet.  However owners should keep an eye out in case that does happen.
