It appears that General Motors is turning the corner from it’s bankruptcy days.  It was announced that they are in discussions of possibly increasing production of 4 of their brand models: Chevy Camaro, Cadillac SRX, Chevy Equinox and the Buick LaCrosse.  This comes after the company reported strong sales for each of these in recent months.

GM Spokesperson Tom Wilkinson said they knew that they would have to increase production after the summer inventory levels became very low, but the four models mentioned significantly surpassed their expectations.  This is good for many auto workers who were laid off recently, which they may end up being called back in as demand increases.

In June, 2009 GM sold over 13,157 Chevy Equinox’s, which is assembled in a plant located in Ingersoll, Ontario.  This is said to be up 188% compared to the previous generation model.

Even though their sales are down 35% in 2009, General Motors is making several key decisions to improve the quality of their vehicles and manufacturing a reasonable amount depending more on the demand rather than having a large surplus.
