The Fiat 500 is one of the cars coming to the U.S. by mid-March.

When Fiat formed a alliance with Chrysler back in 2009, they said they would be also bringing their popular European brand to the U.S., with ambitions of creating 200 dealerships across the states.  Since that time, people have been waiting and wondering why it’s taking so long.  Well, it’s taking a lot longer than originally planned.

The Fiat 500 this week will be going into full-scale manufacturing in Mexico in the coming weeks.  So, you would think that they have several dealerships ready to go with pricing.  Well, they don’t.  As a matter of fact, only 20 dealerships are ready to go with an additional 10-20 more to be ready by mid-March.  However, they have said that at least 130 stores will be open by September.  There is no news however when the full 200 stores will be available.

Although Fiat’s dealership problems will hold up sales a bit, the Fiat 500, which has been on pre-order for a while now, will get fulfilled by mid-March along with filling dealerships by the end of the month.
