Bentley appears to be one out of the many automakers joining the green movement.  The British automaker, while not having a reputation for having eco-friendly vehicles, appears to be making steps towards this with a possible hybrid drive-train to put into the Continental.

According to reports, Bentley is producing a hybrid drive-train for the next Continental’s coming out in 2011.  There is not many details available on the new system, however it can be said that with the lightweight design of the Continental it would produce very low emissions, get excellent mileage, and still be E85 capable.

Currently the hybrid system appears to be the direction Bentley is moving towards for now.  They have already denied that they would use either hydrogen or diesel drive-trains, which appears to be due in part to U.S. sales and the country’s opposition to diesel engines.
