The Chevy Volt: the "car for idiots".

Johan de Nysschen, who is an avid diesel supporter, seems to hate Chevy Volt, even going as far as to call it a “car for idiots”.  He takes several points of the car he doesn’t like, but the main one appears to be the price which stands at around $40,000.

In a comment to MSN, he said the following: “No one is going to pay a $15,000 premium for a car that competes with a (Toyota) Corolla.  So there are not enough idiots who will buy it.”

de Nysschen points out that the car itself is more in line with $25,000 competition. He believes that GM will have severe problems finding people to purchase it, and even goes as far as saying that the Volt will be a sales flop, with the government intervening – once again – to bail out the company.

Although Audi has plans to enter into the electric car market, they believe that its diesel technology to increase fuel economy and reduce overall emissions. Compared to standard gas engines, Audi’s diesel engines use 25 percent less fuel and emit up to 35 percent less Co2 emissions, which saves some money over a few of the hybrids on the market.
