The Aston Martin Cygnet is one of the vehicles they are hoping will be a hit.
As mentioned in a previous article, Aston Martin is in a serious financial condition due to their current majority owners. However, they are hoping to rebound from their bleak sales goals with three new models coming out soon.
What appears to be the oddest move for the British automaker, they are coming out with a re-branded Toyota iQ, which they are calling the Cygnet. The changes will be mostly cosmetic, such as the signature grille that Aston Martin has along with a few body tweaks. The interior will also be slightly changed as well. Anything involving the power-train is expected not to be modified.
The Aston Martin will be sold in Europe only, and will carry a pricetag of $32,000, which is about double the price of a standard iQ.
Other vehicles coming out is the new Rapide sedan next year, and the long anticipated One-77 which will feature a 740 horsepower 7.3L V12 and retail for about $2 million. No other planned changes are expected for the other models Aston Martin carries.
