2012 Brabus CLS
Aftermarket tuning company Brabus has revealed the performance package for the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS. This new “Merc” is set to be revealed at the Geneva Auto Show next week. However, Brabus decided not to wait, and we don’t blame them when you see what the company has done to improve the engine, suspension and body.
Under the hood, Brabus has taken the already awesome Mercedes-Benz BlueEfficiency diesel engine and made it even better. On the CLS 250 CDI model they managed to squeeze out an additional 31hp to give the car 413 lb-ft of torque. Then on the CLS 350 CDI model they made the engine even better. There is two modes setup: Eco and Sport. In the eco mode the car can produce 509 lb-ft of torque at the same horsepower. Switching to Sport mode increases you to 309hp that propels the “Merc” from 0-60mph in 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 155mph.
The CLS will be using the Bilstein suspension with your choice of six different wheel options, ranging from 8.5Jx17 to 10.5Jx20. As for the body, the front bumper will have a different look with larger intakes, daytime running lights, front splitter to help with downforce, grilled fenders with the Brabus logo, and side skits to give it a lower appearance.
The 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS models are planning to go in production soon, and more information on it will be available next week.
