2011 Hyundai Sonata
Not long ago, we wrote an article that Hyundai was planning to introduce the new generation of the Sonata. Recently, in Korea this new car was unveiled. Seen as a considerable upgrade from previous versions, the new Hyundai Sonata has a improved look, a little updated technology, and 2 engine option packages.
The new Sonata, as you can see, has a more streamline modern look to it, compared to the bland and sometimes boring look of the previous generation. In Korea, it will ship with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder producing 165hp, and a mileage of 30mpg. In North America it will come with either a 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit in the base configuration that produces 200hp, or for those who want a little extra power the upper-level modem which comes with a 3.0-liter V6 that will output somewhere around 250hp. In addition to the two U.S. models, Hyundai is also planning a hybrid model of the Sonata that will use lithium polymer batteries.
The U.S. model will most likely be shows at either the Los Angeles or Detroit auto show.
Production of the new Hyundai Sonata is expected to begin in the summer of 2010, while the hybrid version won’t be available until later in 2011.
